We provide Yoga in Schools for both primary and secondary school students as well as teachers. Yoga develops strength, flexibility, concentration, relaxation, self discipline, fitness levels, self esteem, social skills, creativity and healthier bodies. When we learn techniques for self-health, relaxation, and inner fulfillment, we can get through life’s challenges with a little more ease. Yoga encourages self-esteem and body awareness that is non-competitive. Research from California State University in 2003 found several positive effects on the students. There were fewer disciplinary problems, reduced stress in school, higher self esteem, better fitness and greater academic achievement. We offer a package to suit your schools needs whether it's durning school hours with individual classes, after school activities for pupils or for teachers to unwind at the end of a hard day at work in the classroom. Our instructors cater for all age and fitness levels. The place for yoga in schools:
Yoga in school class lasts 45 minutes and costs €2 per participant (T&C Apply). We recommend an 8 week course. Structure of our yoga classes are as follows:
Testimonals: 'The children in my class have been taking yoga lessons with Cora this year and last year. ( Junior & Senior infants.) The benefits to the children are very apparent. Last year, their concentration level and duration of same, was short. This year the improvement is remarkable. The children listened attentively to the instructions and follw same quickly and correctly. They have also become more supple and can attempt more intricate poses and exercises in yoga class. I would love if children could have yoga lessons all year round as they look forward to it so much each week. Cora has a gentle and calming voice and she relates to the children very well. As a result, they return to normal classes in a calm and positive frame of mind. I would highly recommend that all primary school children should have the opportunity to learn yoga techniques.' ( Margaret Greene, Junior & Senior Infants teacher 2010. Callystown National school, Clogherhead. ) ' His favourite part was getting into character and doing his poses e.g silther like a snake and fly like a butterfly. Over the past few weeks I have noticed a great improvement in his concentration and doing his school work at home'. ( Junior Infant Parent 2009 )
