Pilates

Gain body awareness, stamina, co-ordination and correct body dynamics with pilates. Created by Joseph Pilates during world war 1 as a rehabilitation technique. It is an exercise programme to work every muscle in the body with specific attention on the muscles that stabilise the joints. Reduce back pain, develop core strength, prevent sports injury, recover quicker.

Yoga
In Yoga the physical exercise is called asanas. This is gentle stretching that acts as a lubricant to the joints, muscles, ligaments, tendons and other parts of the body massaging the glands and organs. Yoga exercises (asanas) help to tone the nervous system, improve circulation, release tension, and increase flexibility. "Pranayama is control of Breath". "Prana" is Breath or vital energy in the body. "ayama" means control. The yogic breathing (pranayama) develops concentration and clarity of thought, relaxes the nervous system and helps with stress and anixiety. Proper breathing provides sufficient oxygen for the correct and efficient functioning of every single cell in the body.

Pregnancy yoga

Yoga is a wonderful way to exercise, tone, relax and prepare your body during pregnancy. Gentle stretching working within the limitations of your body is one of the best health tools you could use during this special time. Yoga assist's the new growth and development and prevents unnecessary long term wear and tear by strengthening your body. Reduce back pain and stress. Breathe to enhance your energy, calm your mind and prepare for birth.

Kids yoga

Kids yoga is fun. It involves movement with correct breathing, relaxation, concentration and meditation. It promotes strength and flexibility in the body, alertness of mind and confidence. The class comes to life with story telling, games and imaginery. Children connect with themselves, learn to release tension and stress, build self confidence, improve on social skills and creativity, learn self discipline and better fitness.

Chair Yoga

The practice of chair yoga incorporates a holistic approach whereby the joints in the body are taken through their range of movements through simple seated yoga postures in a chair, in addition to the posture work; a standard yoga class will also include a short centering, breath work and relaxation.
